![]() ![]() ![]() Not only are its new Hue bulbs brighter, you can now control them with Siri using the 59.99 Philips. I prefer the 75watt to 100watt equivalents. Philips is refreshing its line of smart lighting products. I will say the regular color bulbs are way too dim for me. I only get them on a good sale so I don't have too many. I don't get into all their other offerings, but I do have their white ambiance bulbs and a few color and like them. That said, you have to decide if the hue system is worth it. As a side note to those who are in the reefing hobby, there are other factors such as scarcity, photo manipulation and naming that has also played a part. Now a coral costs 10x to 20x what they used to cost before showing off those insane colors. The reefing hobby was nothing until leds came along and made corals look all these insane almost unbelievable colors. They are hard to find so I assume the masses spoke and that is a major selling point. To me, I would rather have a windowless computer and save all the extra cost of leds inside the case and on each fan/computer part. The same as why some (a lot apparently) like to have all those led colors in their computer. I can't imagine spending over $1000 just to light my tiny apartment with bulbs that can change color to music or a movie, but to each their own Thanks for the reply, but why would someone need a hub/bridge? Isn't that some old fashioned thing from when smart bulbs first came out? The synxbox stuff has seemed interesting, but the cost is obscene for what it does, not to mention these insane bulb prices. ![]()
